This book was really good and I quite enjoyed it! I went into this book with some trepidation. I am so glad I read this book because it was so much fun. I really hope the authors continue writing.

One of the best parts of this book is that it was written by a father-daughter duo. It is so sweet, and I love that this was able to happen.

This book very much reminds me of the Septimus Heap series by Angie Sage. I loved those books, and this book has the same cozy feeling that those books did. The world-building also felt familiar and comforting. The world was well built and nicely set up. Differing from books written for older readers, the world-building was slower, and not overwhelming. It was perfectly done, and I really liked it!

The characters, especially Lilly and Galwyn, were amazing. I loved how they grew and their relationship. It was a very sweet mentor-mentee relationship. These characters were just fun and I loved their narration. Megan and Thorne were also lovely additions to this group. I especially loved Megan’s sarcasm.

There was an animal companion, a cat, Tammy. I actually love the name for this animal. Names are sometimes very complicated in fantasy books, and I love this simpler name. Tammy was a unique character, and I quite enjoyed her in the Fae realm. She was a lovely inclusion in the story.

The Fae part of the world was very well done, along with the magic. I usually struggle reading Fae books, but this is a wonderful introduction to the Fae for younger readers. It was set-up nicely, and I loved exploring this world. The magic was very intriguing, and I hope the authors decide to continue writing in this world.
