National Dog Month

August is National Dog Month! This week I am sharing some of my favorite books that have dogs, with featured titles including “A Touch of Tiaras and Treachery” and “The Midnight Blizzard.”

It’s time to celebrate man’s best friend! August is National Dog Month, so this week I am sharing some of my favorite books that feature dogs!

Here are my recommendations:

Emily Wilde’s Encyclopaedia of Faeries by Heather Fawcett

A Filling of Fables and Firelight by Sarah Beran (technically the animal companion in this book is a fox, but I count it!)

A Touch of Tiaras and Treachery by Ashley Evercott

Three Wild Dogs (and the Truth) by Markus Zusak

The Midnight Blizzard by Mary Mecham

Stubby the War Dog by Ann Bausum

The Penderwicks by Jeanne Birdsall

What is your favorite book that features a dog? Let me know in the comments!

There are fabulous picture books by Lynley Dodd a NZ author. The Hairy McLairy series. So memorable! They always feature at least one tricky word, too
