Review:

Alosa’s mission is finally complete. Not only has she recovered all three pieces of the map to a legendary hidden treasure, but the pirates who originally took her captive are now prisoners on her ship. Still unfairly attractive and unexpectedly loyal, first mate Riden is a constant distraction, but now he’s under her orders. And she takes great comfort in knowing that the villainous Vordan will soon be facing her father’s justice.
When Vordan exposes a secret her father has kept for years, Alosa and her crew find themselves in a deadly race with the feared Pirate King. Despite the danger, Alosa knows they will recover the treasure first . . . after all, she is the daughter of the Siren Queen. – summary from Goodreads
Daughter of the Siren Queen is a thrilling conclusion to Alosa’s story with romance, sirens, action, and adventure!
This book was so good and I loved the conclusion!
Alosa was amazing in this book! We got to see a different side of her this book. In the previous book we primarily saw her more conniving and manipulative side, but in this book, we got to see the part of her that cares for her crew so much. She really did love her crew so much, and seeing this side of her was nice. She also opened up more to others, namely Riden, which I enjoyed. Alosa embraced her siren side more in this book, which allowed for some wonderful moments between her and her crew. Another big moment of character growth for Alosa was her moving away from the control her father exerted over her.
Riden was wonderful! He was so sweet and we got a different side of him in this book too. He was no longer first mate to his brother’s crew, so we got to see him interact with Alosa and her crew in a friendly manner. I loved all the scenes of him being part of the crew. Pertaining to Riden, I wish there was a little bit more of a closure pertaining to Draxen. He was left pretty early in the book and not really mentioned again. Considering how important he was to Riden and the level of importance he held in the first book, I was expecting him to make another appearance and he did not. I wish that was wrapped up a little better.
The romance between Alosa and Riden was so good! They really grew this book, both independently and together. They challenge each other nicely and have wonderful banter. I also like how caring Riden was towards Alosa.
This book was full of adventure! As I mentioned above, Alosa moves away from her father, so this book follows her and her crew as they try to get the siren’s treasure first. They also incur the wrath of her father and the other pirates, so there are a great many action scenes. I will say that many characters die and there are a few who die on page. Nothing is too graphically described, but I still recommend this book for older readers (16+). The adventures were thrilling and full of danger.
I loved getting to know more about Alosa’s crew. They were a fun bunch, and I loved all the different characters. They each had unique personalities and it was really well done how they all came together.
The siren’s made an appearance, although pretty brief. Their culture was intriguing and I enjoyed them showing up for Alosa at the end. I do wish that they were in the story a little bit more.
We did get to see a little more of the pirate king in this book, which was nice. He had more of an active role in the story this time, and we got a sense of how awful he was.
Daughter of the Siren Queen was a thrilling conclusion with action, adventure, and a loyal pirate crew as they race for treasure!
