Top Ten Tuesday: Books I Want My Sister to Read

This week’s Top Ten Tuesday theme is Books I Want My Sister to Read. With a mix of middle grade and young adult books, featured titles include “These Violent Delights,” “Princess Academy,” and “The Unwanteds!”

It’s time for another Top Ten Tuesday! Top Ten Tuesday is run by Jana over at That Artsy Reader Girl and this week’s theme is a freebie!

I have decided to share the books I wish my sister would read. My sister is almost twelve, so the majority of these books she just hasn’t read because she’s not old enough. The other books she hasn’t read because she doesn’t like to listen to me! My sister loves dramatic stories with romance storylines, similar to me, so I read a lot of books she will enjoy when she’s older, but these are harder to find for her now!

Here’s my Top Ten:

The False Prince by Jennifer A. Nielsen

This book doesn’t really count because she just finished the series. But I spent two years begging her to read these books and she finally did and LOVED them!

The School for Good and Evil by Soman Chainani

I read these books years ago and really liked them. We watched the movie together and my sister seemed to like it, which has renewed my pestering her to read these books!

The Unwanteds by Lisa McMann

I have loved The Unwanteds for a long time and really want my sister to give them a go. It’s not in her usual genre, but once she gets into it, I think she’ll really like it.

These Violent Delights by Chloe Gong

These books are amazing! There is drama with romance, right up my sister’s alley. However, they are a little old for her. I’m just counting down the days until she is old enough!

The Selection by Kiera Cass

My sister is a hopeless romantic and she loves reality tv. Which is kind of hard because there isn’t a lot that’s appropriate for younger people. I think she will just adore these books and probably become one of her favorites!

I Hope This Doesn’t Find You by Ann Liang

I love all of Ann Liang’s books, but this one is probably my favorite. It has all the romcom elements my sister loves, so I can’t wait for her to pick this book up!

The Princess Companion by Melanie Dickerson

I don’t know how much my sister likes fairytale retellings, but she does love romances, and this book is full of clean romance and good themes. She would just love the happily ever afters in this series!

The Goose Girl by Shannon Hale

This is another one of those books full of drama and romance that I just beg my sister to read. I’ll convince her someday!

Princess Academy by Shannon Hale

I have loved these books for a long time and almost remind me of a younger Selection. I think she would really enjoy this book if she gave it a chance!

Keeper of the Lost Cities by Shannon Messenger

This series is long, but I think my sister would end up really enjoying this series. There’s romance, action, and found family!
