It’s time for another Top Ten Tuesday! Top Ten Tuesday is run by Jana over at That Artsy Reader Girl and this week’s theme is Buzzwords or Phrases That Make Me Want to Read (or Avoid) A Book.
This was a really fun prompt, and really got me thinking about some of the things are more likely to make me want to read a book or not read a book.
Here’s my Top Ten:
Yes:
Fake Dating
I love fake dating storylines, so any time I come across this, the book is almost automatically a yes!
Found Family
Found family is so much fun and can really make a book that much better.
Clean Romance
I won’t read spicy books, so I am always on the lookout for clean romances, and it’s always fun when I come across one!
Retelling
I love, love, love retellings! There’s just something so magical about retellings that I can’t stop reading them.
Vampires
I haven’t read very many vampire books, but anytime I hear there is a vampire in a book, I am very intrigued and usually add it to my list.
Royalty
Royalty and court drama are some of my favorite things to read about, so if royalty makes an appearance, I’ll probably be reading it.
Siblings
Storylines with siblings that have a good relationship are really hard for me to find in books, so when I do find it, I love them so much!
Maybe:
Fae
Fae is a maybe for me. The few Fae books I have read, I struggled a little to follow along. I am starting to read a few more, so Fae books might move into the yes category.
No:
Spicy
I won’t read a book with spicy scenes in it. There are some books I may be willing to skip scenes for, but for the most part this is something I avoid.
Murder
Anytime I learn that a book is a murder mystery, it’s almost always an automatic no for me. Murder mysteries are just something I don’t really enjoy.
Do you share any of my buzzwords?
