It’s time for another Top Ten Tuesday! Top Ten Tuesday is run by Jana over at That Artsy Reader Girl and this week’s theme is Goals for 2026!
This year, I am getting more into setting goals, for all facets of my life, and trying to reach them. I even made a 2026 Bingo card- I had way to much fun with this! This post is going to be a mix of bookish goals and non-bookish goals, and I am very excited to see what I accomplish this year.
Here’s my Top Ten:
Read forty new-to-me books
I am really excited for this one. Sometimes I fall into a little bit of a rereading habit, but I love discovering new reads, so I think this is a goal I can reach.
Read 12 nonfiction books
I really don’t like nonfiction very much, so I am trying to branch out. So far, it’s not going the best, but I have eleven months to accomplish this.
Complete all my reading challenges
I signed up for six reading challenges this year, and my goal is to complete all of them!
Return to reading roots
This one is one that has been percolating in the back of my mind for a while now. I realized in the past couple of months that I haven’t really read any big fantasy books, and the last couple of years I haven’t read a lot of dystopian/sci-fi books. I’ve realized I miss it. Now, I will always love the cozy, light books I have been reading, but I want to have more of a balance between these and the more intense sci-fi/fantasy books I read a few years ago.
Go on a trip
I am notoriously bad at trip going and anytime my family starts talking about a trip, I get a little nervous. I don’t travel well and I get anxious and uncomfortable when my schedule changes. But this year I want to go on a least one trip.
Go to a zoo
I love the zoo! It’s one of my favorite places, and every time I go to a new state, I try to go to a zoo. This factors into my above goal- I want to go somewhere new and go to a new zoo!
Start Oliver’s Instagram
Oliver is my youngest dog, and my sister has been asking me to help her start an Instagram for him for a while now. This year I am finally going to do it.
Write my aunt once a month
I used to write my aunt almost every month, but then I started college and got a job, and I forgot. This year I am going to get back in the habit and write her more.
Catalog books
This is what happens when you volunteer at a library for four years and work at a library- you get an intense desire to catalog your books! For my birthday, my parents got me a barcode scanner, and I got a book catalog app, which I was so excited for. I haven’t finished putting all my books in, though, and this year I am going finish it!
Try four new recipes
We are creatures of habit in my house, and we struggle introducing new recipes and meals. One of my bigger goals is to try four new things and maybe add them into our usual rotation!
What are your goals for 2026?
