Summer Reading is officially here!

This year I am going to release a list every Thursday until August 14th, where I will share book titles that pertain to a common theme or challenge for summer reading programs.

This week I am sharing summer books! These are some of my favorite types of books and I love reading about these summer adventures throughout the year!

Children’s Ficition

Judy Moody and the Not Bummer Summer by Megan McDonald

Roar! It’s not bad enough that Mom and Dad are heading to California, leaving Judy and Stink with Aunt Awful (er, Opal), but now Judy’s two best friends are going Splitsville, too. Just when it looks like her summer is going to be BOR-ing — eureka! — Judy comes up with the most thrill-a-delic plan ever. Middle Grade

The Penderwicks by Jeanne Birdsall

The Penderwick sisters busily discover the summertime magic of Arundel estate’s sprawling gardens, treasure-filled attic, tame rabbits, and the cook who makes the best gingerbread in Massachusetts. Best of all is Jeffrey Tifton, son of Arundel’s owner, the perfect companion for their adventures.
