It’s another Top Ten Tuesday! Top Ten Tuesday is run by Jana over at That Artsy Reader Girl. This week’s them is Books That Feature/Include… whatever you want! This idea is from Alice at The Wallflower Digest and I am super excited.
I have decided the books I am focusing on are ones that feature Royalty! I love a book with royalty and political drama! So, I am going to share some of my favorites and some that I am excited to read!
Here’s my Top Ten:
The Prince and the Apocalypse by Kara McDowell

I am super excited to read these books! It is a duology set in modern times. In it a girl on a senior trip learns the world is ending in eight days. She is trying to get back to her family in those eight days and meets a prince who helps her. It sounds like a Hallmark movie- which I love!
We Hunt the Flame by Hafsah Faizal

I plan on rereading these in a few days. In my recollection, I recall finding the story just okay, but when I went back and reread my reviews for it I had nothing but good things to say about it, so I am giving it another chance. The prince is also an assassin, which is super exciting!
The False Prince by Jennifer A. Nielsen

I absolutely love this entire book series! There are some really amazing characters and the I love the storyline. The main character, the prince, is one of my all-time favorite characters. He is so much fun to read, and I just adore him!
The Wrath and the Dawn by Renee Ahdieh

This book is a combined retelling of Bluebeard and One Thousand and One Arabian Nights, both of which are hard to find. I really enjoyed this book and am rereading it in a couple of days. I really loved how the prince is portrayed in this book and, if I recall, there is some family drama- which I love!
Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard

More princes! These princes are pretty fun to read. They have some trauma, and one is the villain of the series. I haven’t read this book for some time, but I am hoping to reread it soon, so I am slowly reintroducing myself to the world and am remembering some more about the characters!
Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo

Shadow and Bone has a very corrupt government if I recall correctly, which makes the books super interesting. But there is one prince who most people love. There is a lot of political drama, as well as magical mishaps, surrounding this character, but he is so fun!
To Kill a Kingdom by Alexandra Christo

This is a book on my TBR and I have to be honest, I don’t know much about this book. It is a Little Mermaid retelling as far as I can tell, but gender swapped. It seems a little darker than I usually read but still seems good. I love finding a retelling, so I am excited to read this book someday.
A Curse so Dark and Lonely by Brigid Kemmerer

I have been meaning to read this series for years. I keep hearing good things about it but then forget to add it to my TBR. I am growing more and more curious about it, so I may finally get to it! It is also a Beauty and the Beast retelling, and it has disability representation and a fantasy world.
A Thousand Heartbeats by Kiera Cass

I fell in love with the cover of this book before I knew what it was about. I am super excited to read this book, and I think it has a lot of political drama, which I just love. It is also a big book, especially for Kiera Cass, so it should keep me occupied for a while!
Medievally Blonde by Cait Jacobs

This book hasn’t been released yet, but I am counting the days until it is. I just recently learned about it and this is a debut novel. It is also a Legally Blonde retelling! It follows a princess who is supposed to marry the neighboring kingdom’s prince. But when he won’t propose to her, she follows him to his military academy where she falls in love with his guard.
There are so many books with royalty! Do you have any recommendations for me?
