Last year I participated in a number of reading challenges for the first time.
This year I am doing a few new ones and repeating three of them. I don’t follow the prompts in order, but I did complete all of them.
This year I am being more relaxed in my challenges, so while I’m going to try to complete every prompt, I’m not going to stress myself out about it. This is why my book goal is significantly less than it was in 2024.
My goal is to read 75 books this year. Last year I was able to read 139 books, but I had more time then. Since I am going to school full time and have many volunteering hours, I don’t have time to read that many books and I don’t want to stress myself out about reaching a big goal.

The first challenge I am participating is the Library Love Challenge held by Angel’s Book Nook and Books of My Heart. The goal is to read more books from the library. There are three semesters: winter, summer, and autumn. The goal is to read at least 12 books from the library, but there is no limit. I plan on participating in all three semesters, but I haven’t decided if I’m going to do the mini challenges yet.
The second challenge I am participating in is 25 owned TBR books in 2025 on StoryGraph. The goal here is to read 25 books that you owned before 2025.
The third challenge is the color-coded reading challenge, which I participated in last year. From the blog, My Reader’s Block, they also have the Read it Again, Sam challenge which I am excited to participate in. I love rereading books and am planning on rereading quite a few books. I have decided to do the Just Give Me a Time Machine Already level which is 24+ books.
The fourth challenge I am doing is a repeat from last year, too. I am doing the Fairytale Retelling Challenge from Charity Rau. I love retellings and I found out it also counts to watch a movie. Sometimes I can’t find books that fit into the prompt, so watching a movie sounds like fun.
The fifth, and final, challenge I am doing is also a repeat from last year. I am doing the Keyword Reading Challenge from Chapter Adventure. This was the hardest challenge for me last year, but I’m still going to give it a go!
Happy reading everyone and have a happy new year. I hope you’re able to read many books this year and complete any goals you set!
