This month’s Saturday Spotlight theme is Cozy. So far I have shared Emily Wilde’s Encyclopaedia of Faeries by Heather Fawcett. You can find that post here.

This week I am sharing Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End by Kanehito Yamada. This is a wonderful manga series, that is very sweet and cozy. I am not usually a manga reader, but I gave this one a chance and I really enjoyed it. It is somewhat D&D based, and there is a lot of adventure. It is a long series, with fourteen books so far, but it is a cozy adventure with fun characters. I loved the heartfelt explorations. It was interesting and fun. It is also an anime on Netflix, and it has stayed true to the manga so far.

Elf mage Frieren and her courageous fellow adventurers have defeated the Demon King and brought peace to the land. But Frieren will long outlive the rest of her former party. How will she come to understand what life means to the people around her?

Decades after their victory, the funeral of one her friends confronts Frieren with her own near immortality. Frieren sets out to fulfill the last wishes of her comrades and finds herself beginning a new adventure…
