This month’s Saturday Spotlight theme is Author Features! So far I have shared Kiera Cass and Shannon Hale. You can find those posts here and here.
This week I am sharing a newer author to me who I absolutely adore! I am sharing Ann Liang!
I have read all of her books and loved every one of them, and cannot wait for her new book to be released next year!
Ann Liang has written If You Could See the Sun, I Hope This Doesn’t Find You, I Hope This Finds You, I am Not Jessica Chen, A Song to Drown Rivers, This Time It’s Real, and Never Thought I’d End Up Here. I will include the links to these reviews below.

She has written three different types of books: contemporary romance, magical realism, and a mythological retelling. She has excelled at every one of them.
Her magical realism books are so touching, and I feel deeply seen when reading these books. Her main characters are flawed girls that remind me of me.
Ann Liang’s romances are so sweet and fun, as well as touching. Her characters are realistic and Liang has this humourous writing style, that reminds me of the classic rom-coms. I am so hopeful that these get adapted for the screen! If you’re ever looking for an adorable romance with realistic characters, read Ann Liang!

Ann Liang only has one mythological retelling- A Song to Drown Rivers– which was a beautiful and tragic story. This story was moving and shocking, with complex things being explored in interesting ways. The ending genuinely shocked me and had me a little teary-eyed. It is not a book I will soon forget.
Ann Liang writes beautifully, with often humorous tidbits peppering her stories. She has amazing characters that are realistic and make you feel seen. Her romances are always adorable, and I root for everyone! I highly recommend Ann Liang and I cannot wait for her future books!
