Review:

Harriet knows that modelling won’t transform someone. She knows that being a polar bear in a rainforest isn’t necessarily a bad thing. And that the average person eats a ton of food each year, though pregnant Annabel is doing her best to beat this. What Harriet does not know is where she is going to fit in once the baby is born. When her perfect summer plans are ruined, a modelling job in Japan seems like the perfect chance to get as far away from home as possible. But nothing can prepare for the chaos of Tokyo, her modeling roommates, and her errant grandmother’s chaperoning. Or seeing Nick everywhere she goes. Because now Harriet knows what a broken heart feels like. Can Harriet find her place on the other side of the world or is she lost for good?
I am woefully behind in writing reviews! I’m working on catching up, though!
I loved this sequel. It was super good, and I think the series will only get better.
Harriet Manners is the same geek from the book before, though now she is struggling to determine how she is going to fit in when her new sister is born, and she is dealing with her first ever heartbreak.
I will say the whole heartbreak was a huge misunderstanding. It was comical when everything was figured out at the end. I truly love Nick!
There was also a misunderstanding with Annabel, but that, too, was resolved in the end. Annabel really loves Harriet, and it is so cute!
I still love Harriet. She is an awkward, relatable character and I just love reading about her adventures.
I loved that it took place in Tokyo. I would love to be able to go someday, so I really enjoyed seeing it from Harriet’s perspective. All of her adventures and antics were so fun to read.
I also loved the addition of Bunty. She is a wacky, wonderful grandmother, and while not in the book all that much, I loved when she popped in.
Two other characters were introduced- Poppy and Rin. Rin is such a unique, intriguing character. She matched her outfits with her cat! Admittedly, I loved it! Poppy, on the other hand, was not my favorite.
Model Misfit was the perfect addition to Harriet’s story. It had fun adventures, new relationships, and a sweet romance. Perfect for a fun spring read!
