Review:

It’s been two months since the Fates were freed from the deck of cards, Legend claimed the throne for himself, and Tella learned the boy she fell in love with doesn’t really exist. With the empire and lives in the balance, Tella has to decide if she can trust Legend or a former enemy. After learning a secret that upends her life, Scarlett has to do the impossible. And Legend has to make a decision that will change his life.

I loved that there was a dual perspective. I missed Scarlett in Legendary. So I really loved having both sisters perspectives. With this perspective we got more Scarlett and Julian! I love them so much and they have such a strong relationship!

While I loved the dual point-of-view, it was still very Tella heavy. She knows what she wants and isn’t afraid to go and get it. Scarlett’s chapters were a little more reserved than Tella’s, but I still loved them.

We got parts of the book where we see more of Legend’s life, his interactions with his performers, and with Julian (Spoiler: his brother). I loved these little moments that made Legend seem like a person, and it was nice to get to see both Julian and Legend in this light.

The ending to this series was really good. All the characters I wanted to be together were together and it was a good, happy ending.

As I mentioned in my review for Legendary, Jacks wasn’t my favorite but I still liked him. He was in this book more than in the previous book, and he made some questionable decisions. I started to like him a little more, but I am Team Legend and that is probably coloring my opinion. I will say that I didn’t like how his story ended. He randomly left the story. I don’t think we got a proper ending for him and it disappointed me a little.

The Fates. A wonderful but maybe rushed idea. I enjoyed the idea of the Fates, but it felt very rushed. It also didn’t take them that long to defeat the Fates.

I really enjoyed the conclusion of the Caraval series. Finale ended the series strong with different relationship dynamics, strong romances, and a dual point of view. Some of the characters, especially the antagonists, could have been developed a little bit more.

I highly recommend this amazing, magical series!
