Run by Jana over at That Artsy Reader Girl, this post is to connect popular Christmas songs to books you’ve read.
I love this idea and am so glad this is something I can participate in!
I am going to do my best to only connect the songs to books I have read this year!

1. “All I Want for Christmas Is You”: Favorite bookish couple.
My favorite bookish couple this year is Cress and Thorne from the Lunar Chronicles. They are the retelling of Rapunzel and Flynn Ryder and are absolutely adorable.

2. “I’ll Be Home for Christmas”: Name a book where a character is away from home (school, vacation, etc.).
The Penderwicks followed the antics of four sisters, while they stayed at a little cottage on vacation. This is probably one of my favorite new books I read this year.

3. “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas”: Name your favorite “little” book (children’s book, short story, novella, etc.).
This year I loved The Tea Dragon Society. This was a very quick read, the colors chosen were beautiful, and I love the dragons!

4. “Santa Claus is Coming to Town”: What book(s) do you hope Santa brings you this year?
I honestly can’t decide. There are three books/series that I really hope I get this year. They are the Agaped Bearers by Hannah Taylor Lindsey, Heirs of Secrets by Berlyn Hayes, and Unraveled by Shannon Messenger.

5. “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer”: Which book turned your nose red (made you cry)?
I haven’t read any super sad books this year. There was this one scene at the end of United We Spy by Ally Carter that had me emotional, though.

6. “The Most Wonderful Time of the Year”: Your favorite book/kind of book to read during the holidays.
I only recently started reading holiday books during the holidays. My favorite holiday books are the Dash and Lily series by Rachel Cohn and David Levithan, so far.

7. “We Three Kings”: Your favorite trilogy/book from a trilogy (or feel free to fudge it and pick a book from a series).
I went back and counted how many trilogies I read, and it totals out to eight. My favorite trilogy I read this year was Renegades by Marissa Meyer. It follows a super villain infiltrating the super-hero headquarters to try and take them down.

8. “Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow”: A character you would love to be snowed in with.
I would probably want to be snowed in with Froggy from the Land of Stories. He has been my favorite character since I was a kid, and he loves books! We would be able to talk about our favorite books the entire time!

9. “Last Christmas”: A book that seriously let you down.
Eragon was the book that let me down the most. This series was recommended to me by all of my librarians and how amazing this series was, was seriously stressed. I slowly read through the entire series over a month-and-a-half long period, and I didn’t like it at all.

10. “White Christmas”: An upcoming release you’re dreaming about.
I am super excited for Wings of Starlight by Allison Saft. It’s a retelling of Queen Clarion and Lord Milori from the Tinkerbell: Secrets of the Wings movie.
