National New Friends Day is today! So, in celebration, I’m sharing books that have come out this last year or are going to come out in the coming months.
I’ve heard many people refer to their books as friends, so I’m sharing new books that could become your new friends.

I Hope This Doesn’t Find You by Ann Liang
After reading This Time It’s Real, I was so excited to read I Hope This Doesn’t Find You. This book was good, but I had such high hopes for it that it let me down a little bit. I still gave this book four stars and it was a cute rom-com high school story.

Snowglobe by Soyoung Park
I haven’t read this book yet, but I read it’s like the Hunger Games in a frozen dystopian world where the rich are constantly filmed, bringing entertainment to the world. I’m really excited to read this book!

Twelfth Knight by Alexene Farol Follmuth
I’m don’t play tabletop games or football, but I still loved this book. My one complaint was that it mentioned a lot of issues, but didn’t solve most of them. This is one of my favorite books I’ve read this year, and I rated it 5 stars.

A Song to Drown Rivers by Ann Liang
Ann Liang is becoming one of my favorite authors. After I really enjoyed her rom-com books, I was thrilled she was venturing into historical fantasy. A Song to Drown Rivers is sitting on my shelf and I cannot wait to read it!

Grandest Game by Jennifer Lynn Barnes
I have read the first three books in the Inheritance Cycle, but haven’t made it to The Brothers Hawthorne yet. When I saw that this book was mostly about Grayson I was so excited! Hopefully, I’ll be able to get to it before the year is out.

Unraveled by Shannon Messenger
I have read every Keeper of the Lost Cities books and am Team Keefe. While I wish book 10 was being released this December, I’m excited to see Keefe’s adventures and perspective in this short book. Also, the art Shannon Messenger has released is beautiful.

Spectacular by Stephanie Garber
It’s no secret I am a huge fan of the holidays. I’m already bugging my family to decorate for Christmas! I have long been a fan of the Caraval series (though I haven’t finished the Once Upon a Broken Heart series), so when I heard they were releasing a holiday book I immediately ordered it. It should be here in a few days, and I can’t wait to reenter the world of Caraval, especially in a holiday setting

Heirs of Secrets by Berlyn Hayes
I’m a big fan of clean romances, so when I heard that this book was a clean fantasy book, I immediately added it to my list. The only downside is it has been hard to find in stores and libraries, so I haven’t gotten my hands on a copy yet.

Wings of Starlight by Allison Saft
Tinkerbell: Secret of the Wings was one of my favorite movies when I was younger. When I heard there was going to be an adaption of Clarion and Milori’s love story I was overjoyed. Unfortunately, it won’t be released until 2025.

Dead Things are Closer Than They Appear by Robin Wasley
As a huge fan of the Raven Cycle by Maggie Stiefvater I was intrigued when this book said it was for fans of the Raven Cycle. I usually don’t read apocalyptic books, but I think it has potential.
