Review:

Grace finally knows what happened to her mother, but she still doesn’t have peace. When her brother comes to visit with his friend, she tries to be normal. After a shocking death that makes one of her friends a fugitive, Grace needs to solve this mystery and save her friend. Throughout the story, Grace finds more questions about her mother’s past, and how that affects the present.
The beginning of the book sucked me in! I absolutely love the story of the Society, though there are more questions than answers as you go through the story. Jamie finally makes his appearance, and I really enjoyed him. I really enjoy family relationships in books, and Jamie and Grace had such a cute relationship. It’s nice to see a familial relationship with Grace; I think that was something that was missing from the first book. Alexei was also more present in See How They Run. Alexei was there in the first book, but he played a bigger role in this book. Alexei and Grace’s relationship also further developed. Honestly, I really love them together! The one thing that I wish there was more of was Alexei and Jamie together. Ally Carter did a good job of carrying over the grief and guilt surrounding her mother’s death. There was some political drama in See How They Run, as well. I find political drama intriguing, and this case is no exception.
In one review I read, they said this series was darker than previous Ally Carter books and I have to agree. Gallagher Girl’s got more serious as the series continued and Not If I Save You First was fairly serious, but this series started very serious and continues with that seriousness.
This book was spectacular. There were more relationships throughout the book, a mystery that is engrossing, and intriguing drama. I recommend this book to action-mystery fans.
