Review:

Cammie finally knows why the Circle of Cavan is hunting her. It’s also her final semester at the Gallagher Academy, making her think about the future. All of her friends seem to know what they’re going to do next, but Cammie doesn’t even know if she is going to survive the next day. What follows is old characters gathering together to bring the Circle down once and for all, and save the world as they know it.
United We Spy was a wonderful conclusion to an amazing series. There was action, adventure, and very emotional scenes. We learn what many of the Gallagher Girls are going to do after graduating. The characters were so grown up this book. There was definitely less adult interference in United We Spy. Our favorite adults were still there of course, but the soon-to-be graduates were definitely doing this solo. While Zach has been part of the cast for a while now, in United We Spy we see just how close to the other characters beside Cammie and Mr. Solomon he is. He really does care about the other girls, and they are his friends, too, which I thought was cool. For many books now, I’ve been wanting all of the Gallagher Academy residents to come together and battle the villain. I finally got it! It was only about a page, but I liked it nonetheless.
While United We Spy wrapped up the story and was overall a nice conclusion, there are some things that I didn’t enjoy. The biggest was the bombshell of who Zach’s dad was. It was discussed roughly one time and not really acknowledged again. I felt like there wasn’t a conclusion for Zach and his dad. The second thing is the story felt a bit rushed. I can’t quite pinpoint it, but there was a definite feeling of things going a little too fast.
What a wonderful conclusion to the Gallagher Girls! I will miss them and their adventures. The conclusion offered up an ending to the issues that have been plaguing the characters for the whole series. It also wrapped up many other side storylines. I wish some parts were fleshed more nicely and that the pace was a little slower in some places, but it was a nice ending that left you feeling satisfied.
I recommend this book series to anybody who wants an action-romance book about girl genius-spies. It’s a feel-good book, that tells an entertaining story with amazing characters.
United We Spy is book six in The Gallagher Girls series, and to understand what happens in this book you have to read the others first.
Bonus Chapter:
Recently, Ally Carter released other editions of her book with an added epilogue. Unfortunately, the copy I was able to obtain, didn’t have that epilogue but I was able to find it online and read it.
It’s only a few pages long and was really good. It takes place ten years after the ending of United We Spy and the girls are returning to the Academy for a reunion. Everybody is all grown up with fun jobs. We get to see Abby and Townsend, along with Rachel and Joe. Zach and Cammie are still going strong, and they’re still best friends with Liz, Bex, and Macey. Overall, really cute, though I wish there were more Gallagher Girl books.
A Gallagher Wedding:

A Gallagher Wedding is a short story that takes place a few months after the events of United We Spy. It’s 12 pages long and you can find it here: A-Gallagher-Wedding_United-We-Spy_Special-Content.pdf (allycarter.com) There wasn’t much to it, but it was cute and left the series off in a nice place.
